Author Matthew Fitt teaches pupils how to be Scots

St Elizabeth's Primary

WRITER and author of Scots Tongue, Matthew Fitt, visited St Elizabeth's Primary in Hamilton to promote the reading and talking of Scots.

He entertained the children with Scots poetry and helped the youngsters explore their native tongue.

Matthew visited as part of the St Elizabeth’s Annual Book Fortnight. Other activities included dressing as a character from books, staff storytelling and telltale buddies, where classes pair up and read to one another.

Everyone also had the opportunity to browse and buy from the visiting book fair.
