Primary pupils given lesson on their rights

Teachers Elizabeth Bradshaw and Mary Murphy with St Elizabeth's and St Peter's pupils

TWO Hamilton primary schools hosted a pupil school council forum in South Lanarkshire’s Regional Offices.

The forum, organised by St Elizabeth’s and St Peter’s primaries, aimed to raise awareness of rights and responsibilities.

This year, over 20 primary schools attended and took part in the activities arranged by Bruce Wilkinson of UNICEF, to highlight the UN Convention for Human Rights for children.

Provost Russell Clearie opened the morning with other dignitaries from the council, education departments and the wider community.
