Burns Club contest winners
HAMILTON Burns Club were delighted with the success of their recent Verse Speaking Competition.
Organised on behalf of the club by Ian Bell, the competition was open to all primary schools in Hamilton.
Youngsters from seven schools took part and prizes were awarded as follows:
Primary 4/5 — 1, Craig Deakin, Townhill Primary; 2, Joanne Kerr, St Mary’s Primary; Primary 6/7 — 1, Talia Stirling, Townhill Primary; 2, Ashleigh Mitchell, St Elizabeth’s Primary.
The adjudicators who had the difficult task of choosing the winners included past presidents of the Burns Club, Robin Wilkie and Jack Baillie, and president Jim Orr.
Prizes and diplomas were presented by the president.
