Jailed over bail breach

A HAMILTON man was jailed last week for breaching a bail condition forbidding him from contacting his wife and daughter.

George McCann (49) admitted breaching the condition when he was found in the company of Henrietta and Lisa McCann at 180 Townhill Road on Tuesday July 15.

However, a not guilty plea to committing a breach of the peace at 180 Townhill Road, by conducting himself in a disorderly manner and making threats of violence to police officers while on bail, was accepted by the Crown.

McCann has an extensive criminal record which includes numerous breaches of the peace - and assault, reset, theft and fraud offences.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court last Wednesday, Sheriff Joyce Powrie jailed him for two months.
