A HAMILTON man who scattered nude photo of his ex-girlfriend in the street where she lived was this week sentenced to community service.
Andrew Clark left a picture of Lynn Hunter on a car - and posted one through her neighbour’s letter box - after she ended an eight-year relationship. He also left one lying on the ground.
The 25-five year old, who now lives in Paisley, had admitted committing a breach of the peace in Quarry Street on April 18.
Before carrying out the offence, he had claimed that Miss Hunter had ruined his life.
Hamilton Sheriff Court had been told a furious Clark had scattered the intimate pictures near Miss Hunter’s home weeks after they had split up.
Depute fiscal Emma Tonner explained: “Miss Hunter was alone in the flat when she saw a vehicle belonging to her former partner outside in the car park.
“She saw Clark place a picture on the windscreen of a car.
“This was also seen by a neighbour who approached Mr Clark.”
The accused then asked the neighbour if he would like to see pictures of Miss Hunter, but the man declined.
Clark, said the depute fiscal, then put something through the letterboxes of Miss Hunter’s neighbours.
When asked why he was doing this, he replied: ‘She has ruined my life.’
Ms Tonner said further pictures were found on the ground which showed Miss Hunter in a state of undress.
She said the complainer was left “deeply embarrassed” by Clark’s actions.
Clark’s solicitor had asked the court to accept that there was no sexual element involved.
He also said Clark was “deeply ashamed” of his behaviour.
“This incident has embarrassed himself and his mother, who was only told what had happened by a member of Miss Hunter’s family,” added the lawyer.
At Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, Sheriff Frank Pieri sentenced Clark, formerly of Avonbridge Drive, to 95 hours’ community service.
