Racist tirade man jailed for 80 days

A HAMILTON man has been jailed for 80 days for racially abusing a man in a store.

Paul Swift, of 3 Fereneze Crescent, admitted committing the offence at the Spar in Clarkwell Road last Sunday, July13.

The 25-year-old shouted, swore and directed racially abusive language at Aftab Allah.

Swift has a string of previous convictions which include assault, breach of the peace, assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

He was sentenced to the jail term at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
