Man denies lightbulb assault charge

A HAMILTON man this week denied assaulting a woman with a lightbulb.

Martin Findlay (25) pleaded not guilty to assaulting Adele Johnstone when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

The charge stated that Findlay threw pieces of wood and a lightbulb at Ms Johnstone at his 67 Farm Road home on June 28, injuring her. Findlay further denied committing a breach of the peace at the same address.

Sheriff Joyce Powrie set Findlay’s trial for October 23 and granted bail.
