Jail for man who punched and threatened woman with a knife

A MOTHERWELL man who threatened to cut a woman’s throat with a knife has been jailed for 100 days.

Graham Mahon (48), of Dalziel Tower, assaulted Pauline King at her address in Springwell Crescent, Blantyre, on February 12.

He pulled out a knife and held it to her neck before punching Ms King on the face.

Mahon, who committed the assault while he was on bail, admitted the offence in May.

Passing sentence at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week, Sheriff Danny Scullion said 25 days of the term was for the bail aggravation.
