Bottle attack denied

A 28-YEAR-OLD man last week denied leaving another man permanently disfigured after a bottle attack on a bus in Newhouse.

Andrew Young pleaded not guilty to assaulting John Bourhill with the bottle while they were on a bus at the New- house roundabout on May 25 this year.

Young, of Slateford Road, Edinburgh, also denied committing a breach of the peace on the bus by shouting and swearing.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court last week, Sheriff Rae Small set Young’s trial for September. He was given bail in the meantime.
