Drugs are seized in car swoop

POLICE in Lanarkshire last week seized £50,000 of suspected cannabis.

They swooped on a car travelling on the M74 near Bothwell Services, Hamilton.

Officers from the Scottish Drug Enforcement Agency were involved in the operation, at around 2.30pm on Friday.

They allegedly recovered 12kg of cannabis and made one arrest.

A 48-year-old man appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday charged with supplying drugs.

Gary Clark, from London, made
no plea or declaration when he
appeared in private in front of a sheriff.

He was given bail and the case was continued for further examination.
