Tidying garden landed motorist in court

A STRATHAVEN man who pushed his car onto the road so he could tidy up his garden fell foul of the law — because it was not covered by insurance.

John McLean, formerly of Broomfield Road, Strathaven and now of 7 Millgate Road, Fairhill, Hamilton, last Thursday admitted at East Kilbride District Court to using a vehicle without insurance on Broomfield Road, Strathaven, on October 2, 2006.

After hearing from both sides, McLean was admonished, but his driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
