LOGANS Primary School in Motherwell was broken into between 4pm and 8.45pm on April 17.

A group of youths were seen on the roof prior to the break-in.

Motherwell police constable Derek McWhinnie said: “Thankfully on this occasion no property was stolen. I would appeal to any person who was in the area or who has heard people bragging about breaking into the school to contact us on 483135.”

HEROIN and crack cocaine were seized during a search of a house in Forgewood, Motherwell, on Thursday, April 17.

Police, acting on a tip-off, swooped on the house.

Two women aged 28 and 22 and two men aged 28 and 29 have been reported to the procurator fiscal.

Inspector Alan Fabian of Motherwell Police said: “I would again urge the public to report anyone they suspect of dealing in illegal drugs. Please make contact with your local police office or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”

POWER tools were stolen from Cleland Construction, Biggar Road, Newarthill, between 5.30pm on April 17 and 7am the following day.

Three Stihl saws, a Dewalt saw, a red Honda Power Float with a 30-inch blade, a yellow JCB hand braker hammer, a blue Yamaha 80cc off-road motorcyle, a 50cc quad bike, a Dewalt radio, a KVA generator and batteries were stolen.

ELEVEN drain covers worth a three-figure sum were stolen from a building site at Fin Street, New Stevenston, at about 2pm on April 16.

The suspect, a man 5ft 8ins tall, aged 30-35 with an Irish accent, black hair and wearing a black top and jeans, made off in a white Ford transit pick-up truck.

Anyone with info on this crime is asked to contact Bellshill Police Office.

A BELLSHILL shopkeeper was threatened by a youth with a broken bottle on April 15 at about 9.30pm.

The 43-year-old shopkeeper was inside the store at Motherwell Road, when a youth attempted to assault him with the broken bottle. A 13-year-old has been reported to the Children’s Reporter regarding this incident.
