£142,000 CCTV upgrade

PART of Hamilton’s CCTV system is to be upgraded at a cost of £142,000.

South Lanarkshire Council have accepted a tender from British Telecom to provide a managed service for CCTV digital recording and storage.

The new kit will replace obsolete equipment in use at the authority’s Pollock Avenue Control Centre.

Additional training will be required for the 17 CCTV monitoring staff at the centre.

Strathclyde Police will contribute £109,000 of the cost.
