Teaching reforms a 'shambles'

Labour leader Iain Gray branded teaching reforms a "shambles" as he called on Alex Salmond to act to ensure planned changes are brought in at the start of the new school year.

Mr Gray, a former teacher, said he backed the shake-up proposed under the Curriculum for Excellence.

But he told the First Minister that some teachers did not know what they would be teaching first-year pupils when they start secondary school later this year.
