Russell quizzed on class size plans

Education Secretary Mike Russell faces a grilling from MSPs over Government plans to cut class sizes for smaller pupils.

City of Edinburgh Council announced last week that it is considering raising the primary one class limit to 30 from 25.

It follows a series of successful legal challenges from parents who had lodged "placing requests" to get their children into better schools outside their immediate catchment area.
