Minister grilled on snaring policy

Environment Minister Roseanna Cunningham is being questioned by MSPs about the Scottish Government's policy of snaring animals.

Animal rights campaigners said that pets and protected species are often caught in the wire traps and have called for them to be outlawed.

The Scottish Government ruled out a ban two years ago, claiming that alternatives are not always suitable and that effective predator control was vital.
