Footballer fined for drink-driving

Scottish international footballer Ross McCormack has been disqualified from driving for 17 months and ordered to pay £2,600 for drink-driving.

The 23-year-old striker was arrested following an incident in Cardiff on October 25 and pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.

McCormack, who also plays for Cardiff City, had been on a night out with friends in the Welsh capital and had "a couple of drinks" before driving home in the early hours of the morning and crashing his silver Range Rover Sport into metal railings, Cardiff Magistrates' Court heard.
