Redeveloped airport terminal opens

The first phase of a £40 million redevelopment of the terminal building at Edinburgh Airport opens.

The expanded departure lounge area now includes two new restaurants, a takeaway and delicatessen as well as 450 additional seats for passengers.

Gordon Dewar, managing director of Edinburgh Airport, said: "With more and more people passing through our airport, it is right to invest now in expanding the terminal building and improve facilities so our passengers enjoy the best possible experience, both when they depart and when they arrive."
