Probe launched after fisherman dies

An investigation is being launched after a fisherman, who was pulled from the water after falling overboard, died in hospital.

The 52-year-old man fell overboard from the fishing vessel Optik at around 1.22pm on Wednesday west of the Bell Rock Lighthouse off the coast of St Andrews.

An RNLI lifeboat and a helicopter from RAF Boulmer were sent to the vessel after the man was pulled from the sea.
