Willie Bain to take seat as MP

Labour's recent by-election winner is to take his seat at Westminster and officially become an MP.

Willie Bain, 36, won the Glasgow North East by-election by a comfortable majority of 8,111 at the count last week.

His campaign had seen Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Home Secretary Alan Johnson and Chancellor Alistair Darling visit the constituency to help boost Labour votes.
