Shoppers 'beginning to spend more'

Shoppers in Scotland are getting back into the buying habit, figures have suggested.

Sales growth in Scotland's shops is lagging behind the UK - but only because the UK sales are recovering from "dismal" low levels of a year ago.

Scotland's like-for-like sales in October were 1.5% higher than the previous October, when they only went up by 0.1%, according to figures from the Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC).
