Evacuation looms over cliff crack

Engineers were assessing a large crack on a cliff face above a coastal village as residents prepared for a possible evacuation.

The 25-metre crack in the cliff in Pennan village is being monitored in case of landslide following heavy rain.

Residents of the village, featured in the film Local Hero, were told they may have to evacuate if the situation worsened and were advised on Tuesday to pack an overnight bag.
