Cash boost to improve flood warning

Research into ways of improving flood warnings has been ordered by the Scottish Government, it has been announced.

The £60,000 project, to be carried out by the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute, at Craigiebuckler, Aberdeen, will study the best way of getting flood warnings to the public, local authorities and emergency services.

Parts of Aberdeenshire and Glasgow are likely to be used as case studies.
