Cancer target met for ninth month

A key target on cancer waiting times has been met for nine months in a row, official figures have showed.

The level of patients who began treatment within two months (62 days) of an urgent referral was 95.7% between April and June of this year.

This is down slightly on 96% from the previous quarter - but above the Government target of 95%.
