Warning over independence poll

The Scottish Government has warned opposition parties against "standing in the way" of a referendum on independence.

Constitution Minister Mike Russell insisted that the people have the right to choose as he confirmed plans to hold the vote next year.

He also dismissed the recent Calman Commission into reform of the devolution set-up as a missed opportunity.
