English troops could stay - SNP

English forces could remain north of the border in an independent Scotland, the SNP defence spokesman has said.

Angus Robertson MSP said the rest of the UK would be Scotland's "foremost friend and ally" and it was possible to envisage sharing basing, procurement and training facilities.

Writing in Scotland on Sunday, he called for a Scottish defence review to ensure that defence policy reflects Scotland's priorities and preferences.
