A Tory MSP who plans to stand for Westminster at the next general election has become the focus of a row between his party and its rivals.
Labour and the Liberal Democrats criticised the Tories for planning to field John Lamont as the candidate for the Westminster seat of Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk.
Labour said the move was an "embarrassment" to Tory leader David Cameron, who has criticised the "dual mandate" which allows politician to sit in two parliaments.
