MacAskill under Lockerbie pressure

The Scottish Justice Secretary has faced demands to recall Parliament and debate the fate of the man convicted of the Lockerbie bombing.

Politicians rounded on Kenny MacAskill as he prepares to decide whether to release Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi - who has terminal prostate cancer - on compassionate grounds.

Labour, Liberal Democrats and Tories said Mr MacAskill should make an urgent statement and face questions at Holyrood before it reconvenes next month.
