Funding for eco-friendly centre

A new centre for green energy is to benefit from £2.6 million of funding, First Minister Alex Salmond has announced.

The Scottish European Green Energy Centre (SEGEC) is to receive £1.6 million of European cash, together with more than £1 million from the Scottish Government.

Mr Salmond said the new centre would place Scotland at the forefront of European research into renewable energy.
