Prison service censured

The Scottish Prison Service has been criticised by health and safety chiefs after two prisoners were injured in "completely preventable" incidents.

The pair had their fingers trapped in a vibrating mould table in a concrete workshop in HMP Barlinnie, Glasgow.

The injuries happened 11 days apart in August 2008 and left one prisoner bruised while the other prisoner's finger bones had separated at the joints.
