Action plan to train workforce

An action plan aimed at improving the skills and qualifications of the Scottish workforce has been launched.

The plan has been put forward by the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils Scotland, which comprises the 25 skills councils which represent different industry sectors.

The body's director, Jacqui Hepburn, stressed the importance of companies investing in skills, despite the economic crisis.
