Drinks giant Diageo will consider alternatives to shutting its Johnnie Walker bottling plant, it is being suggested.
Scottish Secretary Jim Murphy met the drink firm's chief executive Paul Walsh for talks after politicians from Labour, the Tories, Liberal Democrats and the SNP joined forces to urge Diageo to rethink proposals to cut jobs.
The company has announced plans which could see 900 workers losing their jobs at the Johnnie Walker packaging plant in Kilmarnock and the Port Dundas grain distillery in Glasgow.
