Victim statement scheme rolled out

A nationwide scheme has begun which gives those affected by crime the chance to have their voice heard in court.

The victim statement scheme will allow those who have been the victims of serious crime, as well as the relatives of those victims who have died as a result of a crime, to make a written statement.

This can include details of the physical, emotional and financial impact they have suffered as a result of the crime against them.
