Sea cadet's funeral to be held

The funeral of a sea cadet whose body was found on the banks of a loch 11 weeks after he disappeared will take place this weekend.

Simon MacMillan, 21, vanished after getting off a minibus on his home island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides in the early hours of Boxing Day.

Huge searches were carried out but failed to throw up any trace of the Merchant Navy cadet, who had attended a dance on the island earlier that evening.
