Report highlights human trafficking

Police are failing to bring human traffickers to justice and are not protecting victims of the sex slave trade, according to a report.

The Scottish Government study found the police failed to understand the true extent of human trafficking, The Scotsman newspaper said.

The report also highlighted "intelligence gaps", which it said must be filled in order to catch the criminal gangs and ringleaders responsible.
