Reduction in planning applications

Fewer planning applications will go to ministers under moves announced for slashing red tape.

The change should also result in faster decisions, said Infrastructure Minister Stewart Stevenson.

He said the change was being introduced because many uncontested applications for small-scale developments have in the past been routinely referred to ministers.
