Prescription charge drop welcomed

Cuts in prescription charges are having a "welcome impact", Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said as the latest price drop came into effect.

From Wednesday the cost of a single prescription item falls to £4.

The move is part of the phased abolition of the charges by the Scottish Government, which will result in them being scrapped completely in 2011.
