New chief to head city tram project

The firm behind Edinburgh's tram project has announced the appointment of a new chief executive.

Richard Jeffrey, 43, will take up the post with Transport Initiatives Edinburgh (TIE) next month.

Mr Jeffrey, the former managing director of Edinburgh Airport, will be tasked with management of the £500 million project through the construction phase until it is up and running.
