MSPs to decide on 'sleazebuster'

MSPs are due to decide whether to approve the appointment of a new "sleazebuster" for Holyrood.

Solicitor Stuart Allan is being nominated to be Scotland's Parliamentary Standards Commissioner to succeed Dr Jim Dyer, who is stepping down after six years.

The commissioner investigates alleged breaches of the MSPs' code of conduct and has legal powers to require witnesses to give evidence.
