Drug and alcohol abuse scheme due

A major shake-up for fighting drug and alcohol abuse at local level will be announced later this month, MSPs have heard.

As part of the shake-up, the current system of alcohol and drug action teams will be replaced with a new system, said Community Safety Minister Fergus Ewing.

The reforms will be announced at a national event bringing together policy-makers and other bodies.
