Pay gap 'financial timebomb' alert

Councils face a "financial timebomb" over thousands of looming equal pay claims, MSPs will be told.

Holyrood's Local Government and Communities Committee will be taking evidence on the issue from union leaders and campaigners.

A submission to the committee from the tribunals service states that it has more than 35,000 claims against councils on its books.
