Minister condemned on PE 'failure'

A Nationalist MSP has told Scotland's new schools minister it is "unacceptable" that the target of ensuring every child gets two hours of PE a week has still not been met.

SNP MSP Michael Matheson said the target was only being achieved by about one third of all primary schools.

And he told schools minister Keith Brown that five years on from the goal first being set this was "actually unacceptable, to put it bluntly".
