First Minister Alex Salmond is due to visit the site of a famous battle as he kicks off a visit to the north of Scotland.
The Nationalist leader will tour Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre on Monday afternoon as part of a two-day programme in Inverness.
The Battle of Culloden, on April 16 1746, was the final clash between the Jacobites and the Hanoverian British, and a decisive moment in European history.
