Hybrid fun from Honda

A REFRESHED Honda CR-V hit showrooms recently and now features the cleaner, more powerful 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, an automatic gearbox option for diesel models and revised styling that makes it look even more premium.

For 2010, the CR-V's popular looks have been refreshed to incorporate a distinctive new front bumper and grille, a revised rear bumper, and colour coded bumpers on EX grades. There are newly-designed 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels and upgraded fabrics and plastics inside, giving the CR-V interior an even more premium finish.

A new audio console design has also been introduced, while improved sound deadening around the engine and cabin makes the CR-V an even quieter and more relaxing car to drive.

Honda's 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, which debuted in the latest Accord in 2008, will be available in the new CR-V. The diesel produces 150bhp.

Prices range from £20,610 for the SE petrol model and up to £31,180 for the diesel automatic. Honda expects the ES manual 2.2 diesel at £24,150 to be the biggest seller.

Honda's new, great-looking sporty hybrid - the CR-Z - will be going sale in the UK in a few weeks time.

The CR-Z's compact 2+2 coupe body and striking design is coupled with a responsive chassis to give nimble handling and direct steering, and a six-speed manual transmission enhances driving enjoyment. Its clean, efficient petrol-electric hybrid powertrain not only offers good fuel economy and a low exhaust emissions package, but also adds to the nippy driving characteristics of the car and means the CR-Z is well suited for use in urban environments.

With kart-like handling and direct steering, the CR-Z promises a fun drive, whilst the hybrid system will mean exhaust emissions are kept low.

Also now on offer from Honda are a number of Civic offers, with an average of £1,000 off key models like the sporty Civic 1.8 Si.

All offers are available with zero per cent hire purchase or low deposit finance packages to help spread the payments.
