Record Kia sales

A SURGE in registrations is expected to drive Kia to almost 50,000 sales in Britain this year.

The South Korean car firm is already well ahead of the 40,000 sales record it achieved four years ago - and the success is not entirely due to the Government's new-cars-for-old incentive, claims Kia UK managing director Michael Cole.

"We are currently running 55 per cent ahead of last year and while the scrappage scheme has helped boost sales, our success has not all been down to that. People now see Kia as a serious player. We have a lot of new, quality, reliable and value for vehicles that appeal to a lot of customers,' he said.
