Motherwell’s The Dandawrs are Band of the Week

CONGRATULATIONS go to Motherwell’s The Dandawrs who are our Band of the Week. The Dandawrs also win a free rehearsal slot courtesy of Gargleblast studios, Burnbank.

Our Thoughts: Although The Dandawrs have only been together for a year their songs are infectiously catchy and well put together. ‘Do you Know?’ is a fantastic song with the right amount of melody mixed with good drums and clear vocals.

How they met: Through school and also sport such as rugby and basketball.

Background: All members are from Motherwell and are a close group of friends.

We all enjoy the same music which helps with the writing of our own songs. The band formed around a year ago for a school competition which they successful won. It would be good to go far as a band and we enjoy getting positive recognition for our own material.

Members: Scott, Neil, Max and Calum.

Best gig: O2 Academy 2, really good crowd whom we didn’t actually know and got a really good reaction from everyone. Also a very good venue.

Future plans: Finish writing more of our own stuff and get a really good new set organised. Also get some gigs lined up for the up and coming months

Influences: Bands like the View and the Arctic Monkeys. Also local bands like 4dayweekend and the Banter Thief's.
