Famous organist to perform recital in Motherwell church

WORLD-FAMOUS American concert organist Carlo Curley will be appearing in Motherwell next week.

Dubbed the Pavarotti of the organ, Curley has performed at the White House, New York’s Carnegie Hall and St Paul’s Cathedral.

Now he’s coming to Scotland and will perform on Wednesday, January 21, at St Mary’s Parish Church, Avon Street, where he will be playing the newly installed Allen organ.

Hailing from North Carolina, Curley has delighted and enthralled audiences the world over.

Having performed in front of heads of state and royalty, while also having appeared regularly on the BBC, the arrival of Carlo Curley in Motherwell is an event not to be missed.

Thanks to the generous donations of church members, St Mary’s were recently able to install the new Allen Renaissance Quantum organ, the largest of its kind in the West of Scotland.

A spokesperson for the church said this week: “We welcome visitors to enjoy its immense capabilities, as played by one of the world’s most renowned and popular organists.”

The evening’s entertainment begins at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced £10 each and they can be obtained by calling 01698 252642.
