Stars come out to play at the concert hall in 2009

A NUMBER of top acts are set to entertain at Motherwell Concert Hall in 2009.

Billy Ocean, 2007 X Factor winner Leon Jackson, Midge Ure, Backbeat Beatles, a tribute to The Four Seasons, plus top theatre shows The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe and Rent are just some of the treats in a packed programme of winter warmer shows in North Lanarkshire.

Billy Ocean comes to Motherwell Concert Hall on Tuesday, February 3.

Billy is one of the UK's biggest recording stars - with sales over 30 million to date including Red Light Spells Danger, Caribbean Queen, Loverboy, Suddenly, When the Going gets Tough (the Tough get Going), There’ll be Sad Songs (to Make You Cry) and Get Outta my Dreams, Get into my Car.

Tickets are priced at £25.

Midge Ure returns to Motherwell Theatre on Friday, February 13.

Midge combines a selection of his own hits (Vienna, Dancing with Tears In My Eyes and If I Was) with some of his favourite songs by other artists.

Tickets are £15 (£14 under 25s and passport to leisure holders).

The Backbeat Beatles return to Motherwell Theatre on Thursday, February 26, with all the best Beatles hits from Love Me Do through to Let It Be.

Tickets are priced £13 (£12 under 25s and passport to leisure holders).

Let's Hang On are an outstanding tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons who will perform live with the greatest accuracy and excitement at Motherwell Theatre on Friday, March 6.

Their repertoire includes the hits Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Rag Doll, Walk Like a Man, December ‘63 (Oh What a Night) and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.

Tickets are priced £12 (£11 under 25s and passport to leisure holders).

Scotland’s very own X Factor champion Leon Jackson appears live at Motherwell Concert Hall for the very first time on Tuesday, May 19.

Tickets are priced at £25.

The two main theatre shows this season are The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe (Thursday, March 5 to Saturday, March 7) and Rent (Wednesday, April 1, Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3).
