Robyn on her toes for title

A TALENTED pupil from the Linda Paterson School of Dance has won a Highland dancing pre-championship.

Robyn Dawson (14) lifted the coveted pre-championship for aged group 15 years and under at the Kingdom of Fife Championship in Glenrothes - a follow-up to her recent premier trophy win at Melrose Games.

Other pupils who have won major trophies recently are Robyn’s sister Holly (12) - four premier trophies; Hannah Williams (12) - four premier trophies; Rachael McGuinness (11) - eight intermediate trophies; Chelsea Gray (9) - one novice overall trophy.

Highland dance students from the school also sat their examinations held by the Scottish Dance Teachers’ Alliance.

Results were:

Grade 5 theory, honours - Jenna Browning.

Grade 4/3, honours - Michelle Laird.

Grade 2, honours - Hannah Williams, Holly Dawson, Deborah Finnie, Robyn Dawson and Charlene Key.

Grade 1, honours - Jenna Tollan, Kirsten Lamb, Rachael McGuinness, Gilliam Conway; merit - Jamie Lee Lowe.

Medal tests, Scottish Award 2, highly commended - Hannah Williams and Michelle Laird.

Scottish Award 1, highly commended - Deborah Finnie, Holly Dawson, Robyn Dawson and Charlene Key; commended plus - Gillian Conway.

Pre-Gold, highly commended - Jenna Tollan, Kirsten Lamb, Rachael McGuinness and Jamie Lee Lowe.

Silver, highly commended - Chelsea Gray.

Pre-Silver, highly commended - Lauren Merrilees; commended plus - Caitlin Carroll; commended - Stephanie Alexander.

Bronze, highly commended - Danielle Key, Louise Bell, Mhairi Swan, Courtney Doyle, Amy Cassidy and Lauren Smith.

Pre-Bronze, highly commended - Aileen McKenna, Amy Park, Joanna Merrilees, Danielle McCafferty,Emily Turriff and Linzi Robertson; commended plus - Natalie Miller; commended - Maia McAllister.

Preliminary, highly commended - Taylor Gilfillan, Emma Ross, Claire Wilson and Lauren McFarlane.

Preparatory (pass or fail only) - Emma Finnie, Rebecca Mackie, Caitlin Hendry and Sophie Jackson (all pass).

Tiny Tots Level 2 (pass or fail only) - Robyn Cavinue, Molly Cassidy, Ellie Tollan, Emma Young, Carys Ferguson, Lauren Docherty, Chloe Harden, Kirsten Henderson, Caitlin Steven, Katelyn McQueen, Simone Cunningham and Molly Redpath (all pass).

Tiny Tots Level 1 (pass or fail only) - ErinLaing, Niamh Ross, Eden Jenks, Courtney Ferguson, Morgan Robertson, Emily Wheatland and Niamh McLaughlin (all pass).

Irish Jig examination, highly commended - Jenna Tollan, Kirsten Lamb, Rachael McGuinness and Jamie Lee Lowe.
