The write call for music journalists

IF you are 16-25 years and love music then Hamilton Information Project For Youth would like to hear from you.

HIPY are set to launch a new Music Journalism project in the area.

The project aims to provide young people with opportunities to learn journalism, multi media and photography skills.

Participants will be involved in sourcing and profiling local bands, reviewing cds and going to gigs, writing content for web pages and the local press and digital photography.

Experienced tutors will be on hand to guide and assist you throughout the project, which will run on a weekly basis, initially for six-weeks and thereafter for 14-weeks in the New Year.

Gillian McCahon from HIPY said: "We are very excited about this project as it is a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop new skills, enjoy themselves and create a dynamic forum for sharing information on the local music scene.

“We would like to hear from young people with a wide range of musical tastes."
